                                                          Principles of Health Economics

From a Public Health point of view, health economics is just one of many disciplines that may be used to analyse issues of health and health care, specifically as one of the set of analytical methods labelled Health Services Research. But from an economics point of view, health economics is simply one of many topics to which economic principles and methods can be applied. So, in describing the principles of health economics, we are really setting out the principles of economics and how they might be interpreted in the context of health and health care. As Morris, Devlin Parkin and Spencer (2012) put it: Health economics is the application of economic theory, models and empirical techniques to the analysis of decision-making by individuals, health care providers and governments with respect to health and health care.

National Voters Day 2023 Theme:

The theme of National Voters Day 2023 is ‘Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible and Participative’. The theme of National Voters Day 2023 clearly focuses on increasing the active participation of the voters during the elections irrespective of their age, gender, background, and other factors.The Election Commission of India also focuses on ways to make the entire voting procedure hassle-free and more accessible to the voters. We must know about our Vote costs it is our right.

Pongal Celebration

On 13th January,2023,In our college we have wonderfully celebrated Pongal Celebration with all our college faculty and buddies.

 

The most memorable day with lots of fun and enjoyment. On that day we have a wonderful debate program named " Palaya kala parambariyathai potri pathukapathu palaya Thalaimuraiya? Puthiya Thalaimuraiya for that beautiful debate Dr. C.Srimathy,M.A.,M.Phil.,Ph D., Assistant Professor in Govindammal Aditanar College for Women,Thiruchendur.

She made the day most memorable and full fun loaded debate. 

Fire Safety Demonstration

                   FIRE SAFETY DEMONSTRATION

On 6th, January,2023,In our college we have engaged in fire safety demonstration practice under the guidance of Mr.S.Rajamoorthy,B Sc., Station Fire Officer, Fire Safety Demonstration And Fire Rescue Services, Tiruchendur. That was a wonderful session, on that we have get information about how to handle fire and how to handle fire extinguisher too.

Here are some guidelines to follow as you install a fire detection system in your home:

● Choose a detector with a backup battery so it will still do its job even when the power is out.

● There should be a device in EVERY bedroom.

● Make sure to install more than one smoke detector for long hallways and corridors.

● If your home has more than one level, ensure that each floor has at least one smoke detector.

Also, it is essential to plan where you’ll install your fire alarms. Consider these tips when choosing which areas in your home to put fire alarms in:

● As much as possible, place smoke detectors on your ceiling and not on the walls.

● Install smoke alarms in the middle of the room. They should never be in the corners or edges of your ceiling.

● Keep smoke alarms away from ceiling fans, air-conditioning vents, and heat exhausts.

● Don’t put a smoke detector in the kitchen; this might cause a false alarm.

That was a useful session and make aware of many more things to get away from fire objects through fire demonstration

Traffic Rules and Regulation

TRAFFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS GUIDELINES PROGRAMME

On 5th, January,2023, In our college we have a great guidelines for traffic rules and regulations. For that seminar we have cordially invited Mr. G.Sampath Kumar,RTO, Tiruchendur.He shows many live happening of accidents and gave a wonderful speech to follow rules of traffic.

Importance of Traffic Rules in India:

Traffic rules play an important role in regulating traffic flow, ensuring the safety of all road users, and preventing the occurrence and frequency of accidents. Without the existence and implementation of traffic rules, the roads would always be chaotic, and the risk of accidents would be much higher.First and foremost, traffic rules, traffic lights, and roundabouts help control traffic flow at intersections. At the same time, speed limits help to prevent drivers from going too fast and causing accidents.Secondly, traffic rules help ensure all road users’ safety by preventing reckless driving and dangerous behaviours. For example, traffic laws that require drivers to stop at stop signs and obey traffic lights help to avoid collisions accidents.Thirdly, traffic rules help to protect vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians, bicyclists, and children. For example, traffic laws that require drivers to yield to pedestrians at crosswalks help to protect pedestrians from accidents.That was a very useful talk and make us to follow proper rules and regulations to save our life.

Lastly, traffic rules help promote a culture of road safety in India. By following traffic rules and regulations, drivers become more aware of their responsibilities on the road, and they are more likely to drive safely and responsibly.

Christmas and New year Celebration

For that wonderful event Dr.Joshua Bapu, M.E.,Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in Dr.Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering, Tiruchendur.He makes the day most memorable and with his wonderful speech on Christmas celebration.

This celebration makes us to feel refresh and the highlighting events like Christ birth act , Bible reading and sweet sharing moments makes the event a grand success with the help of almighty.

On 3rd December,2022,In our college our Principal, Dr. P. Swamy das planned to conduct Parent Teacher Meeting and for that wonderful function Mr.P.Willy Kanagaraj,M.Sc.,B.Ed.,B.T.Assistant, Government.High.School,Venkatramanujapuram.

             He invited our college and gave a fabulous speech of parents role in students life and how teachers play important role in students life.

This occasion makes our parents to get knowledge about students and get their interesting facts of their children. 

A parent should inspire their child to use that success in a way that influences positive change in this world. A teacher should inspire their child to achieve success in academic goals.

  Finally, Parent Teacher Association Meeting had a great success with good energetic memorable day.

          Medical Awareness                        

First aid is the provision of initial care for an illness or injury.It is usually performed by a non-expert person to a sick or injured person until appropriate medical treatment can be accessed in a hospital or by going to a doctor. Certain self-limiting illnesses or minor injuries may not require further medical care after the first aid intervention. It generally consists of a series of simple and in some cases, potentially life-saving techniques that an individual can be trained to perform with minimal equipment.

The First aid training, therefore, is of value in both preventing and treating sudden illness or accidental injury and in caring for large number of persons caught in a natural disaster. It is a measure both for self help as well as for the help of other. 

Dr. T. Pon Ravi, chief medical officer, Government hospital Tiruchendur visited our college on January 6 at 3 pm and gave us an insight on the importance of safety measures and significance of first Aid. 

Therefore, unless there is an emergency, wait for some means of medical evacuation to be provided. When the situation is urgent and you are unable to obtain medical assistance or know that no medical evacuation facility may be available, you yourself will have to transport the casualty. For this reason, you must know how to transport without increasing the seriousness of his/her condition.

On 11th January the seminar was conducted in our college regarding "The future of teaching profession in India ".The special guest is prof. B. William, Dean ,Head of the department of Manon maniam  sundaranar university, Tirunelveli. The special guest is delivered a speech on the importance of the teaching profession and it's future, scope of teaching. He really enlighten us by making his views .It is very useful session and his guidance are very useful for each and every student who attended the seminar.  

Diwali Celebration

         Our college has planned for Diwali celebration.  For that function we have invited Dr. R. THANALAKSHMI, B.Com., M.P.Ed., M.Sc (yoga), M.Phil, Ph. D.  Associate Professor, Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education, Tiruchendur.  We hearty welcomed her as our college chief guest.  She shares many information about Diwali History, and we are eagerly hears her speech. 

 A very surprise news to our ears because in our college this was the first Diwali celebration from the college established

             Unity is essential as it forms the central pillar of our country. Solidarity and unity go hand in hand and we must understand that we will fall to pieces without agreement.                On 19.11.2022,Our College have planned to make our micro teaching session a memorable moment for each and every student by conducting the Valedictory Function. For that our Principal, P. Swamydas sir invited Thiru.K.Ephram,Ma.,MEd.,Headmaster of Arulmigu Senthilandavar Government.Boys.Higher.Sec.School, Thiruchendur,as chief guest for this function. 

He visited our college and share his experience in teaching field and make us a broad thought about teaching and role of teachers. We have done our micro teaching and get experience about teaching skills and get memorable days of teaching activity. His speech make us to feel glad and make remarkable day on remembering the golden micro teaching days

From 6.11.2022 to 19.11.2022 we have engaged ourselves with teaching  practice and that made us to shaped our skills in teaching. In these nine days we have take part in seven skills. 

They are, 

✓ Skill of stimulus variation 

✓ Skill of introducing a lesson 

✓ Skill of explaining 

✓ Skill of reinforcement 

✓ Skill of probing questioning

✓ Skill of  using black board

✓ Skill of closure 

In micro teaching practice  we have an opportunity to see our own video of teaching to clarify our mistakes and make our skills to develop  our interaction between the students and how to make them interest in listening classes by using  teaching  aid and models. We are separated as nine groups and each group has 12 members and every members have been monitored by one observer and  one timer to control our processing time to make as be alert in timing and in end of our class there comes an overall feedback from our observer to get how our teaching  is done. It was a memorable teaching practice for every student -teachers role.
